I constructed this collar using the twining method of basket weaving. The collar is strong and somewhat flexible. A lot of intense work goes into this kind of construction. Read below to learn more. This collar is my widest collar yet at 1 full inch from top to bottom. This collar will comfortably fit a neck from 15.5" to 15.75". The collar itself measures exactly 16 inches along the inner circumference when locked.

You will receive the exact collar shown here.

Should you wish to have a collar like this one custom made to fit, and/or would like it made in sterling silver instead of the copper, please send me a conversation so I can build a special reserved listing just for you.

I hand cut every piece of the 16 gauge warp wires. Then I spent 6 hours, with a butane torch melting both ends of each warp wire into heads. After the torch came a citric acid pickle bath for as long as it took to remove all of the fire scale and turn the copper back from black to new pink.

From there the pins went into my tumbler for 12 hours to work harden and make them shine brightly.

For the weaving itself, I used 24 gauge copper wire on spools and one by one I weave the individual warp pins the twining method I learned from Mary Tucker (http://www.etsy.com/listing/86259095/twining-with-wire-lesson-tutorial) whose wire work is absolutely stunning.

I can tell you that it took more than 15 hours of steady weaving to do this very special collar. After that, I put on the finishing touches, filing and smoothing any rough spots, shaping, and then putting the cuff back into the tumbler for a final 8 hours to give it more polish, shine and to finish work hardening.

Lastly, I give the entire piece a coating of sealant to protect the bright coppery goodness from turning penny brown.

Each individual collar I craft is a stunning piece of jewelry in its own right. My locking slave collars are made to be public or day collars. They will distort in shape if pulled on with any amount of force.

*****Warning use extreme caution when wearing one of these locking day collars. Any item worn around the neck can be a choking/strangulation hazard. Ensure there is a key within reach at all times in case of accident, and never wear this locked while alone.*******
