This is a graceful and minimalistic public day slave collar. This piece features sterling silver wire hand shaped and work hardened with re-purposed body piercing captive segment ring that serves as both the clasp and the focal element on this collar.
To ensure a proper fit, please check the intended wearer's neck measurements. See 5th photo for measuring instructions.
To assure the ideal fit for this collar please take care in measuring the intended recipients neck as instructed below.
1. Use a cloth measuring tape (tailors or sewers tape measure) for best accuracy.
2. Lay the tape around the neck mid way between the jawline and the hollow of the throat.
A. Don't pull the tape tight but rather ensure it lays flat against the skin all the way around the neck.
B. Don't leave any slack and ensure you don't have a finger or thumb between the tape and the skin.
3. Add 1.5 inches to the resulting measurement to get the proper size to order for this collar.
EX. 13 inch neck at level of Adam's Apple gets plus 1.5" means you should order a 14.5 inch collar.
The 10g gold plated stainless steel captive segment focal serves as the locking clasp. T. This ring requires a special tool called ring opening pliers to operate. To see how this works go here: You can also find a video showing how to open and close one of these rings on YouTube. www.youtube.com/watch?v=43XkD3UeG7I.
If I still have some in stock, you can purchase a pair of ring opening pliers from the Padlocks and Clasps section of my shop. Pliers like these are also available through a large number of other online vendors who carry body piercing tools and supplies.
Be very careful not to squeeze too hard when using these pliers. You can accidentally open the ring too far for the captive segment to be held securely in place. It is tension that keeps these rings closed. If you do accidentally open the clasp too far. There is another tool called ring closing pliers that you may want to locate. I do not carry those in my shop.
Each individual collar I craft is a stunning piece of jewelry in its own right. My locking slave collars are made to be public or day collars. They will distort in shape if pulled on with any amount of force.
*****Warning use extreme caution when wearing one of these locking day collars. Any item worn around the neck can be a choking/strangulation hazard. Ensure there is a key within reach at all times in case of accident, and never wear this locked while alone.*******
